Slade Health hand delivers life-saving treatment to Launceston General Hospital

Slade Writers / 03 Nov, 2025

At Slade Health, our teams are known for going above and beyond to ensure patients receive the care they need.

This commitment was once again demonstrated when our Mount Waverley team acted swiftly to deliver urgent, life-saving treatment to a paediatric patient at Launceston General Hospital, Tasmania.

After discovering a patient’s critical treatment would be delayed and not reach the hospital on time, our operations team at Mount Waverley, Victoria, quickly mobilised to prepare the treatment.

With standard delivery options unavailable, Slade Health’s General Manager of Client Relations, Paula Clark, and Key Account Manager (VIC & TAS), Alex Vasserman, proposed a hand delivery by commercial airline as the best available alternative.

Once the treatment was ready, Alex collected it, travelled to Melbourne Airport and boarded a flight to Tasmania, arriving at Launceston General Hospital by 4:30pm that same day.

In a note of thanks to the Slade Health team, the hospital pharmacy team extended their heartfelt appreciation to all involved.

“It’s reassuring to know we can rely on such a dedicated service to support team when timely administration is critical.

“Your collaboration and responsiveness helped ensure the best possible outcome for the patient, and we’re truly grateful.”

In what was a whirlwind day of events, our teams remained composed and attentive, resolving the situation in a manner that reflects our commitment to excellence and the highest standards of patient care.
