Graham Slade recognised in Queen’s Birthday Honours

Graham Slade – Founder of Slade Health and Slade Pharmacy was awarded an AM in the Queen’s Birthday Honours earlier this month for ‘significant service to the community as a supporter of aged care, medical and multicultural associations and to the pharmacy profession.’

Since founding Slade Pharmacy more than 50 years ago, Graham has been a significant contributer to the development of the aged-care and private hospital pharmacy industry alongside his wider community involvement.

Graham was humbled to be recognised and said “while I am surprised to be awarded the AM I am very proud not only for myself but for my family that our work has been recognised by our country. As much as it will bring joy to my family, I have taken a little time to think how proud my late mother would have been, to be able to share this special time with us.”

Graham has been a strong advocate for building relationships across cultures in the community to progress social and business outcomes. Alongside his commitments as Board member for Jewish Care Victoria and Jewish Community Services, Graham is a philanthropic supporter and advocate for many local health and commerce associations including the Epworth Medical Foundation.

He was past Secretary of the Victoria Street Traders Association, Chairman of the Victoria Street Development Committee as well as Board member of the North Richmond Family Care Centre.  Graham was also previously recognised by the City of Richmond for his civic service to business and community and was secretary of the Rotary Club of Richmond.

Slade Pharmacy provides pharmacy services and products to hospitals, doctors, veterinarians and the general community.  In 2010 Graham and his son David, founded Slade Health, which now employs over 700 trained staff across 4 TGA licensed facilities providing chemotherapy compounding services across Australia.
