Slade Health partners with Greenfleet to plant 150 trees for a greener future

In line with Slade Health’s (Slade) commitment to sustainability and its contribution to Icon Group’s wider ESG goals, Slade has partnered with Greenfleet.

As part of this partnership, our Slade team went green at the 2023 Advanced Pharmacy Australia Medicines Management Conference, encouraging hospital partners to “plant their idea and grow with Slade”.

For every idea shared at the conference, Slade committed to planting a native tree with Greenfleet, a not-for-profit environmental organisation that has been delivering climate action for over 25 years.

Over two days, pharmacists shared 150 innovative suggestions, and Slade Health proudly pledged to plant an equal number of trees. The native trees are planted in a legally protected forest and can remove an equivalent of 94 tonnes of carbon across their lifetime.

This month, members of the Slade Health team — Scott Brammall, Gail Barnes, Nurinah Kadir, Mathew Anastasopoulos, Alex Vasserman, and Christopher Jay — joined Greenfleet to plant native trees at Mt Emily in Victoria.

Located within the Strzelecki Ranges, Mt Emily is part of the Lang Lang River catchment area, and the revegetation efforts aim to rebuild ecosystems and extend critical wildlife habitats.

Slade Health General Manager – Client Relations, Paula Clark expressed pride in this initiative and commitment to caring for planet.

“We’re a proud partner with organisations like Greenfleet who contribute to restoring nature and supporting the land and communities we care for,” said Paula.

“At Slade, we’re committed to reducing medical waste and operating in a sustainable manner that ensures the wellbeing of our patients, customers, people and the planet.

“Helping plant trees is just one way we’re actively working towards a lower waste and carbon footprint to ensure we leave behind a healthier and better future for generations to come.”

As a result of the suggestions submitted at the Medicines Management Conference, the Slade team look forward to exploring and implementing more initiatives such as the continued extension of product stability and ongoing education and training to further deliver safe, quality care.

Together, we are planting the seeds for a better tomorrow!
